Live Channels
Peacock has quickly emerged as a go-to streaming service since its introduction in 2020. Not only does it boast classic NBC shows like The Office and Columbo as well as original series like Those About to Die and Yellowstone, as well as live channels and sports. If you enjoy reality TV shows such as Real Housewives franchise and US version of Love Island – Peacock provides all these as well. For sports fans it also serves as streaming home of 2024 Olympics alongside NFL Sunday Night Football matches, Premier League soccer games and WWE wrestling events – perfect!
However, Netflix discontinued their free tier in January 2023 and now provides two subscription plans. While you can still watch some shows such as The Office and Parks and Recreation for free streaming purposes on the free tier, such as Bel-Air and Yellowstone series episodes are now behind a paywall; for next-day access of NBC shows such as Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon or Late Night With Seth Meyers you will require the Premium subscription plan.
Both subscription tiers provide livestreaming channels like NBC News Now, NBC Sports, NFL Channel, Olympic Spotlight and Matchday Live as well as local affiliate rebroadcast channels (which only work with Premium Plus subscription). Furthermore, Premium Plus subscribers also include 24/7 livestream of their local affiliate.
On-Demand
Peacock does offer an impressive selection of on-demand content. Popular shows from NBC’s past like Dunder Mifflin and Days of Our Lives as well as original series like Girls5Eva, The Thing About Pam and Charmed can all be found there, along with documentaries like In Deep with Ryan Lochte and Lost Speedways with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Peacock also features movies that premiere 45 days after hitting theaters – much sooner than theatrical releases reach other subscription services like Prime Video or Netflix.
Peacock offers several channels designed to emulate traditional broadcast television, such as NBC News NOW and Sky News channels, along with various sports shows such as Sunday Night Football and Premier League matches.
As with other premium streaming services, Peacock offers two subscription tiers. The Premium tier provides subscribers with ad-free streaming and more original programming while the ad-supported tier costs less but does not feature live sports or real-time episodes of Saturday Night Live. Furthermore, some internet providers partner with Peacock to give their customers free subscriptions for a set period or years as an opportunity to test out this service first before investing money into it.

Premium Plan
Peacock stands out in an otherwise over-saturated streaming services market by providing an unmatched library of TV shows and new original series, plus live sports streaming and licensed movies. Their library titles include popular sitcoms such as 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation; classic sitcoms such as Monk, Everybody Loves Raymond and Leave It to Beaver; current drama favorites like The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine as well as seasons of Saturday Night Live and The Voice.
Peacock’s Premium plan gives subscribers access to more than just shows; subscribers can watch live sporting events and original content produced exclusively by Peacock. Furthermore, this service provides 4K/HDR streaming which features more realistic colors and details, along with 4K and HDR video streaming that may only be accessible by cable/satellite providers offering it. Its subscription option is only available to people living within an area serviced by these cable/satellite providers that carry it.
Peacock offers an ever-evolving movie selection, often including more recent releases like Despicable Me and Bridesmaids, along with classics such as Despicable Me and Bridesmaids. Genre and era-specific options exist alongside original movies from NBC and Bravo such as Fight Night, Mr. Throwback and Those About to Die. However, other services may offer more well-known blockbusters; but Peacock does not.

Apps
Peacock is an important step for NBCUniversal, providing viewers with entertainment and news in one convenient package. Though Peacock may not compete directly with Netflix and Hulu for viewers’ entertainment needs, it still represents an excellent option for people who wish to access classic television series, live sports events and original content all at the same time.
This app operates similarly to most streaming services, offering a home page section with featured content, recommended items and an account settings page. However, the app offers some unique features; such as creating up to six separate personal profiles on one account, each of which can have their own viewing queue and HD video support – helping reduce data consumption.
Peacock offers a basic plan that costs $5/month with ads or $10/month without ads – comparable to other streaming services – but also has a premium plan with access to movies, full seasons of television shows, documentaries, original content and some live events.
Peacock offers an assortment of current and past TV series, such as Quantum Leap’s reboot, Modern Family and The Office. In addition, popular late night programs like Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon can also be watched here, while for sports lovers Sunday Night Football, PGA golf tournaments and Premier League soccer games can also be viewed through Peacock.
